The current situation

Organic waste disposal

Many landfills are reaching capacity or being closed, necessitating new landfills farther away from the waste source. Trucks are driving longer distances, which increases costs and pollution. Muncher® systems can be installed closer to population centers, resulting in less fuel and lower costs.

The heat formed by organic compounds under pressure also generates toxic explosive gases such as methane, hydrogen sulfide, and sulfur dioxide.

Of additional concern is that landfill pollutants leach into aquifers with cancer causing compounds, and eventually pollute not only the rivers and oceans but the biosphere as well.

Current solutions are Inadequate

The four most commonly-used methods of waste disposal are landfill, incineration, ocean dumping and anaerobic digestion.

Well-situated landfill sites are exhausted. Ocean dumping is environmentally hazardous.

From a financial standpoint, incineration and anaerobic digestion are far less competitive in most situations than landfill or ocean dumping.

The Muncher® solves the problem!

Minimizing, replacing and remediating landfills by a genuinely green solution would be an enormous benefit for the environment.

The question remains – is it possible to do so profitably? We believe that The Muncher® represents a much more profitable approach to waste disposal than those in current use, and would be delighted discuss the specifics of your situation with you.

Our solution

Faster:

It turns organic solid waste into nutrient-rich plant food in less than one hour; traditional composting can take 45 days to one year.

Greener:

It produces no toxic gases, hazardous compounds or foul odors; will not pollute landfills or aquifers.

More efficient:

It reduces the actual volume of solid waste by 70 percent or more; one ton of garbage is downsized to approximately 1400 pounds of slurry and it provides higher recycling rates than more conventional waste reduction methods.

More cost effective:

It extends useful life of dwindling landfills by seamlessly integrating into daily transfer station and landfill operations; saves money on tipping and transportation fees, shrinks carbon footprints.

More profitable:

It goes beyond just lowering costs by transforming the solid waste disposal process into a revenue-generating composting business.

“When I was told ESS had invented a mechanical aerobic digester with a one-hour conversion time I immediately wanted to talk with them. I tried to poke holes in the process but could not. After working with and around The Muncher® it became very clear that Moe had accomplished what I believed impossible.”
